BEING in love is one of the hardest things on earth especially if it involves a school girl. Come on guys, the truth is always stranger than fiction. One woman even testified that if she found her husband in bed with a ‘small house’ she would literally destroy the world. If she found her husband in bed with a school girl, she would voluntarily become a nun because of the embarrassment it presents to the family. Are you in for an exhilarating short story? Well, chill out because we are tracing the lifestyle of naughty skool girls. Pearl was that type of girl you would meet and forcibly driven to love. Her life was generally a mystery only understood by herself. She would hate you today, smile with you tomorrow and kiss you the day after. “Goodbye mama. I will be staying for maths after school,” She lied to her mother. “But what are you going to eat? I don’t have any money Pee. The little that I have is for mealie meal. Kuthwa iyaphuma namuhla,” Proclaimed her aging mother who had so much trust in her daughter. “Arg! Don’t worry mama. Didn’t I tell you that I am fasting for the family?” she snapped before trotting out of the house like a fully satisfied prison warden. She was wearing a very short skirt that freely displayed her well toned legs. She proudly promenaded her way down the street until she got to the bus stop. A luxuriant blue car with foreign number plates eventually screeched to a halt right in front of her. “Hello there beautiful girl! Do you need a lift to town?” Asked the driver. You know how they do it bedle iwindi. “Hie! Yes I need a lift to town but my money is kinda short,” smiled Pearl with her eyes roving around the car like a vulture ready to pounce. “Oh come off it. Why would a sexy school girl like you need bus fare? Come on, just jump in,” voiced the driver in a configured accent. Pearl slowly poured herself onto the front seat and straightened her skirt as though she wanted the driver to notice that she was wearing a short skirt. He stared at her thighs before accelerating down the highway. “So where do you work?” asked Pearl like a lady who had just bee asked out. “Ha ha ha1! I work for the Australian embassy in South Africa and I am here to facilitate some visa applications. Anyway, what standard are you doing? Matric?” roared the old looking sugar daddy. “Not really. I’m repeating my O’s in town. School sucks! I wish I could join you down South,” confessed Pearl. The car eventually raved its way into town and Pearl was all smiles for she had just met a prospective sponsor. “What are you doing this afternoon? I can show you around town because skool girls rule the show around here,” said Pearl. Amazing huh! Well the truth is always stranger than fiction. School girls rule the show around town. Any objections? Various city streets are set alight by school girls in suggestive uniforms with their faces deeply vanished and their hair well styled. One actually wonders whether a new curriculum on fashion and beauty has been introduced. School girls have recently been criticized for their unethical behavior in town. Most of them are often spotted in the company of big dhara’s, kombi drivers, dealers and owindi during school hours. A thought that boggles the mind is whether school authorities no longer monitor the movement of their students. Perhaps school registers have also been eroded by inflation. Do registers still exist? If the truth be told, school girls have become a nuisance in public places. The have flushed away the dainty pride associated with wearing a uniform. A school uniform is supposed to represent an actuated element of moral values as well as maintaining the degree of cleanliness, responsibility and inordinate self-esteem. But that just remains a deflated ball. Research revealed that a lot of people are blaming colleges for their ‘free dressing policy’ as the major wave to the problem. Most colleges enroll school repeaters who have literally been there and seen it all hence going to school to appease themselves. Yours truly recently ‘flirted’ with school girls in search of answers. “Arg jeki! My uniform has to be short to keep up with the trend. Long skirts are for grannies you know,” testified one student identified only as Patience. But what is the untold story behind school girls and kombi drivers? “School girls are the most ‘attractive’ girls around and kombi drivers and windi’s know how to value us. They take care of our transport problems, lunch and general upkeep,” confessed one skool girl I spotted jumping out of a kombi. Some window-tinted kombi’s even have atrocious stickers labeled – don’t look, your daughter might be inside. The late veteran broadcaster Ambuya Mlambo had a passion for children and she undoubtedly nurtured most of these skool girls who are now threatening to decant morality and the best they can bid her farewell is redefining their dress flair. Are school girls supposed to date, get their hair done or vanish their faces after school? Elevate your thoughts – faraidiza@webmail.co.za
